While the original Mercurial football boots were constructed by Nike from multiple materials stitched together, the new Vapor IX SE has the familiar single piece seamless microfibre upper.
Other details that bring these Nike football boots bang up-to-date include the flexible and responsive Mercurial Vapor IX glass fibre sole plate for explosive traction and a fresh 2013 aesthetic.
The yellow from the 1998 Mercurial football boots is replaced by the volt colour that has become synonymous with Nike and the original silver is updated with a metallic finish.
